Biography

ARTHUR P. DeCAMP was born and educated in Cincinnati, Ohio, but spent much of his later life in St. Louis, Missouri, after becoming a Christian Scientist. Arthur obtained the degree of C.S.B. following Normal class under the Christian Science Board of Education in 1899. Later that year, he bought a controlling interest in the Concord Patriot, a New Hampshire newspaper, hoping to aid the Cause of Christian Science while Mrs. Eddy was living at Pleasant View. From November 1901 until December 1902, he served on the Committee on Finance for The Mother Church Extension Building Fund, and became a member of the Christian Science Board of Directors for a portion of that time. Arthur DeCamp held the position of Committee on Publication for Missouri from 1922 until 1927, and was appointed to the Board of Lectureship in 1929.
