At the end of 1898, now in her 78th year, Mrs. Eddy wrote to a student: “I have wrought day and night this year to make way for our church and a systematic order of action in the departments of Christian Science.”*

She had indeed. What she had wrought was the church’s organizational structure, which endures to this day.
