The structure for the new accessible vestibule is covered by tarps to protect it from the winter elements. The vestibule window system and interior finishes will be installed in the spring. Note that the back entrance and a window on the second floor of the house, which were seen in earlier image galleries, have been removed. These elements were later additions to the building and were not there when Mrs. Eddy lived here.
The first coat of finish paint has been applied to the east elevation. The crew worked hard to get one coat of finish paint on the house before winter temperatures set in. This photo provides another view of the new vestibule, which measures approximately 16’ by 17’, and is attached to the east side of the house.
Here is the nearly completed back entrance, located on the west side of the house. This entrance is considerably smaller than the porch that was here in recent years. Historic photos and evidence discovered under the clapboards were used to determine the size and design of this new entrance.
All of the windows on the house are still boarded up. To protect the newly restored sashes, the windows will be installed in the spring, only after all of the carpentry, roof work, and painting is completed.
