Mrs. Eddy finished writing the first edition of Science and Health in this attic room.
The skylight on the west elevation looks into Mrs. Eddy’s room.
Preservation specialist Sara Chase first examined the interior finishes of the skylight. After the skylight was removed, she inspected the sash.
The metal sash, painted aqua for a faux copper finish, is original to the house, although the glass has been replaced over the years. The hinges are just barely visible, and this window could be opened when Mrs. Eddy lived here.
Special covers were built to protect the skylight openings while the windows were being restored.
