Victorian-Style Christmas Ornament Workshop

A holiday workshop on Victorian-style Christmas ornaments was held at Longyear on Saturday, November 20, in the Museum’s Garden Room. Participants created period-style ornaments embellished with traditional craft elements, including ribbon, beading, and a tassel. Each individual left the workshop with an elegant ornament, perfect for gift giving or decorating this holiday season. The workshop was led by Longyear staff member Susan Kilborn, who holds a Ph.D. from Pennsylvania State University and has been on the faculty of several universities. Her creative designs and gentle instruction have gained the appreciation of young people and adults alike.
Susan has created a selection of unique Victorian-style Christmas ornaments available for purchase in the Longyear Museum Store. Her traditional needlework products can also be purchased in the Museum Store.
