Living Stones: An Ongoing Opportunity to Contribute

Living Stones: An Ongoing Opportunity to Contribute

February 21, 2011

The Pleasant View Walk at Longyear is the focal point of the Museum’s outdoor exhibits in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. Today, more than 4,000 engraved bricks — Living Stones — are installed on this path. Living Stones bear witness to lives touched by Christian Science, and visitors to the walkway will find the names of Christian Scientists from the early days of the movement right up to the present.

The walkway begins at the Pleasant View gate which once welcomed visitors to Mrs. Eddy’s home in Concord, New Hampshire. A summerhouse and fountain from the grounds at Pleasant View are also part of this outdoor exhibit.

You may add a Living Stone to the Pleasant View Walk for a contribution of $150. You might want to add your name to the pathway, or the name of a family member, a special Sunday School teacher, a Christian Science practitioner, or a Christian Science teacher. Living Stones are installed in the walkway each spring. The deadline for ordering bricks to be laid this spring is Friday, March 11.

For more information, or to purchase one or more Living Stones, please call 800.277.8943, ext. 220, or visit Longyear’s website for details.
