Dear Friends,
At Longyear, we feel a strong sense of stewardship in using your contributions wisely. And considering the current worldwide financial picture, we are especially grateful to all those who have responded to our needs this year.
And there are significant needs. For example, in 2006 generous friends enabled Longyear to purchase Mary Baker Eddy’s homes in Lynn and Chestnut Hill, thus saving these important sites from being lost forever. We pray to know that those who encouraged us to purchase the houses — and also our new friends — will see the necessity of restoring and maintaining these important landmarks for future generations. We have just begun. There is an ongoing need for funds for our historic houses.
There is also a need for strong support to carry on the important everyday work of the Museum as we fulfill our mission to advance the understanding of the life and work of Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer, Founder, and Leader of Christian Science.
