Interns Gather for an Afternoon at the Museum

July 27, 2009

A group of about thirty interns spent a half day at Longyear Museum in fellowship, touring Mary Baker Eddy's home at 400 Beacon Street, viewing other exhibits at the Museum, and attending a talk on Mrs. Eddy's work Retrospection and Introspection. Then it was time for tacos.

With the common purpose to learn more about the life and work of Mary Baker Eddy, Longyear Museum hosted about thirty students who are interning at various Boston-area Christian Science organizations for a half-day gathering on July 22.

Under the umbrella organization of TMC Youth, interns from various departments at The First Church of Christ, Scientist, joined students from the Chestnut Hill Benevolent Association's  Christian Science Nursing Arts 1 class and Longyear's own interns for the afternoon's activities.

Following a tour of Mrs. Eddy's former residence at 400 Beacon Street in Chestnut Hill, the group visited the Museum where they had free time to explore the galleries. Later, Longyear's Director/Curator, Stephen R. Howard, gave a talk on Mrs. Eddy's work Retrospection & Introspection.
