Longyear welcomed twenty visitors from throughout Massachusetts for a workshop in Victorian-style valentine card making on February 6 in the Museum’s Garden Room.
During this daylong workshop, participants learned several popular Victorian paper craft techniques, including teabag folding, iris folding, and paper piercing. Each individual created two elegant valentine cards, perfect for gift giving or framing. The day also included a valentine-theme luncheon.
The workshop was led by Longyear staff member Susan Kilborn, who holds a Ph.D. from Pennsylvania State University and has been on the faculty of several universities. Her creative designs and gentle instruction have gained the appreciation of young people and adults alike.
