Summer adventure, learning, and fun came to Longyear Museum during the March 14 open house for DiscoveryBound and five Christian Science summer camps. Through lively conversations and action-packed slide shows, attendees learned about each organization's summer programs for youth. A joint camp video was a highlight for many, with audience members cheering as their camps and camp friends appeared on-screen.
All camps emphasized the importance of demonstrating Christian Science in daily activities, from water sports to arts and crafts, horseback riding to mountaineering.
More than sixty elementary-through-college students and their parents attended this Sunday afternoon event. Participants munched on congo bars and cookies while mingling with friends new and old.
Organizations represented at the all-camp show included Adventure Unlimited Ranches of Buena Vista, Colorado; CedarS Camps of Lebanon, Missouri; Crystal Lake Camps of Hughesville, Pennsylvania; Leelanau/Kohahna of Maple City, Michigan; Newfound/Owatonna of Harrison, Maine; and DiscoveryBound of Greenwood Village, Colorado.
