Bible Workshop Focuses on Job

May 17, 2010

A Bible workshop titled "The Trial of Job's Faith and The Restoration of Job," was presented by Kristy Christian at Longyear Museum on Saturday, May 8. More than fifty individuals traveled from New York, New Jersey, Vermont, Connecticut, Cape Cod, and the greater Boston area to attend this program.

During the morning session on "The Trial of Job's Faith," Ms. Christian covered chapters one through twenty-one of the Book of Job. She encouraged participants to consider the overall question asked by the book, "Why do good men seem to suffer?" In the afternoon, attendees returned to the Longyear Portrait Gallery for the second workshop session, "The Restoration of Job," which covered chapters twenty-two through forty-two of Job. The discussion focused on the lessons Job had to learn before he was restored with more than he had at the beginning.
