Recent Open Houses at Longyear Museum and the Mary Baker Eddy Historic Houses drew local visitors as well as individuals from England, Germany, Spain, and many parts of the United States.
Many visitors had traveled to Boston for the Annual Meeting of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist. While in town, visitors took the opportunity to learn more about Mrs. Eddy’s lifework by exploring the Museum exhibits and taking guided tours of the Historic Houses. Seven of the houses were open for free tours. The house in Lynn, Massachusetts, was closed due to the ongoing exterior restoration project.
In addition to Open Houses scheduled every summer, the public is welcomed at the Mary Baker Eddy Historic Houses for free guided tours from May 1 through October 31. Longyear Museum is open to the public year-round. The Museum’s exhibits and each of the Historic Houses in the Longyear collection trace Mary Baker Eddy’s footsteps as Discoverer, Founder, and Leader of Christian Science.
