Longyear Employee Participates in DiscoveryBound Leadership Conference

Longyear Museum participated in the National DiscoveryBound Leadership Conference at the Adventure Unlimited Camp in Buena Vista, Colorado, over Labor Day weekend. The theme for the weekend was, “Live it!”
More than one hundred and sixty teens and adult volunteers gathered from September 3–6 to participate in a variety of activities ranging from discussion groups, to photography classes, to ultimate frisbee, to team building activities. Longyear staff member Laura Distel represented the Museum at this event, helping to lead discussion sessions and supervise activities.
Longyear has participated in many DiscoveryBound events in Boston and at the Adventure Unlimited Ranches, and looks forward to welcoming teens in June 2011 to the biannual DiscoveryBound National Meeting in Boston.
DiscoveryBound is a non-profit organization with a mission to “create an atmosphere where individuals experience Christian Science in action.”
