In 1898 Mary Baker Eddy gave permission to the J.C. Derby Company of Concord, New Hampshire, to make and sell jewelry featuring a Christian symbol near and dear to the hearts of Christian Scientists - the cross and crown. This 14K gold pin, set with seed pearls, is based on one in the Longyear Museum collection that belonged to Julia S. Bartlett.
