A Musical Evening with Ian Case
Join us at Longyear Museum on Saturday, January 23, 2016, for a concert featuring Ian Case, best known for his innovative approach to the 18-string acoustic double-neck guitar. Ian is one of only five musicians worldwide to tackle the double-neck guitar in earnest, and his playing techniques and multi-layered compositions have begun to establish its musical validity perhaps more so than the work of any other artist. During a fall 2015 coast-to-coast tour of the U.S., a Facebook video of Ian playing a piece from his new album "Run Toward The Mountains" went viral, receiving over six million views in October alone and drawing praise from viewers around the world.
Ian will perform original compositions and will be joined by percussionist Bertram Lehmann, a faculty member at Berklee College of Music.
Dessert will be served after the concert.
Longyear Members: $15; General Admission: $20.
Tickets can be purchased online (click "Register" below), or by calling the Museum at 617.278.9000, ext. 275, or at 617.278.9000, ext. 110.
Registration is recommended by January 20, although some tickets will be available at the door.
