Longyear Membership: The Gift of Christian Science History, Christmas 2014

November 10, 2014

This Christmas, are you looking for a gift that will educate, inform, and inspire? Consider giving the gift of a Longyear Museum membership to a child, grandchild, Sunday School student, family member, or friend.

By doing so, you will share with the recipient the history of Mary Baker Eddy, the Christian Science movement, and early Christian Science workers. Through articles published in our online Members’ Vault, Longyear members meet early workers, including James E. Brierly, C.S.D., who started his Christian Science practice in New Bedford, Massachusetts, at age 35; and Sue Harper Mims, C.S.D., who did healing work in Atlanta, Georgia. Members also receive our biannual Report to Members, which includes research, articles of historical import, and news about current programs. Two recent Report to Members described what Communion Sunday was like at The Mother Church, and the details behind the gathering of over two thousand Christian Scientists at Pleasant View to hear Mrs. Eddy speak in 1897.

Other Longyear membership benefits include free admission to the eight Mary Baker Eddy Historic Houses in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, and a 10% discount in our Museum Store. For example, the member discount reduces the prices of our historical documentaries, The House on Broad Street, Who Shall Be Called, and The Onward and Upward Chain, and books such as Christian Science in Germany and Paths of Pioneer Christian Scientists, to name just a few Longyear Press products available for purchase.

Student memberships are $10 for the year. Individual memberships are $35, and Family memberships are $65.

You will find that a Longyear gift membership is not about the past, but very much about the present and future appreciation of Mary Baker Eddy and pioneer Christian Scientists. Order your enduring holiday gift memberships today by calling 800.277.8943, ext. 220, or 617.278.9000, ext. 220, or by clicking here.
