Message From Longyear's Board Chairman

Cobbler's shed at the historic home in Stoughton, Mass.
December 16, 2015

Dear Friends,

With the new year just around the corner, I’ve been thinking back on the past twelve months of fruitful activity here at Longyear, including the release of our new historical documentary film, “Follow and Rejoice”—Mary Baker Eddy: The Chestnut Hill Years. There’s so much to be grateful for! We’re looking forward to seeing many of you in the coming months as we take the film on the road, and we so enjoyed meeting a number of you this past October on our “Fall Tour.” It’s always a joy to watch as visitors experience Mary Baker Eddy’s historic homes for the first time, and gain an enlarged appreciation for her dedication, her perseverance, and her willingness to obey God as she fulfilled her mission.

Afterwards, one tour participant shared these kind words:

Thank you for opening our eyes and our heads and our hearts to wider, deeper, more intelligent and healing views of our Leader.… As we get clearer views of our Leader, we also catch more inspired views of the Science she discovered and to which she opened the door for us all.

Helping people gain “clearer views” of Mary Baker Eddy goes straight to the heart of Longyear’s mission to advance the understanding of the life and work of the Discoverer, Founder, and Leader of Christian Science. And we couldn’t do what we do without you! From the Museum’s publications, films, and exhibits to our work preserving and maintaining the eight historic homes and offering programs such as the “Fall Tour,” we depend on your support. Won’t you help us continue to share Mary Baker Eddy’s story with an end-of-year gift? You can make your gift online, by telephone (617.278.9000, ext. 220, or 800.277.8943, ext. 220), or by mail.
