Virtual Open House—Amesbury, Massachusetts

Online, through the end of 2023

In 2022, Longyear completed four years of extensive restoration at the Mary Baker Eddy Historic House in Amesbury, Massachusetts. In recent months, hundreds of people have toured the home that now more closely resembles the one that sheltered Mrs. Eddy in 1868 and 1870.

You may not be able to travel to northern Massachusetts in person, but wherever you are in the world, you can visit the house virtually! If you click on the link below, you’ll find four ways to experience Amesbury:

  • A video tour of the home with Pam Partridge, Longyear’s director of education and historic houses, who will tell you about Mrs. Eddy’s life and work during this period not long after her discovery of Christian Science.
  • A look at the restoration with Museum staff and consultants—This Old House, Longyear style!
  • A special “Amesbury for Kids” tour with Kristen Dowcett, host of Longyear’s virtual children’s programs, and a hat-making craft.
  • A virtual 3D model of the house, where you can explore each room on your own.
Please join us as we celebrate the completion of the house and thank all the generous donors who made this project possible!
