This talk by Heather Vogel Frederick will be of interest to anyone wishing to learn about the beginnings of Christian Science nursing. Expanding on a chapter from Life at 400 Beacon Street: Working in Mary Baker Eddy’s Household from Longyear Museum Press, the presentation focuses on Daisette McKenzie and Elizabeth Kelly—two early workers who were involved in grassroots Christian Science nursing efforts. Both women knew Mary Baker Eddy, both were in contact with her around the time she was formulating the Church Manual By-law on Christian Science nursing, and both played a part in this important step forward for the movement.
This talk is under 30 minutes and will be available for streaming from Oct. 30 through Nov. 9. Longyear membership required. Join us to learn more about their story!
