Outdoor Exhibit

Longyear Museum’s grounds feature three original artifacts from Mary Baker Eddy’s Pleasant View home

In addition to Longyear’s indoor exhibits, visitors are also welcome to stroll the Pleasant View Walk outside, which features three artifacts from Mrs. Eddy’s home in Concord, New Hampshire. When the Pleasant View property was sold in 1975, the gate, fountain, and summerhouse were given to Longyear by The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts.

The brick walkway that makes up the path through the exhibit features more than 4,000 bricks engraved with names of Museum members and supporters, as well as Christian Science teachers, practitioners, and early workers. These are part of our Living Stones program.
