Lynn: Foundation for a Movement

In this city, Mary Baker Eddy laid the foundations for her movement through writing, teaching, and preaching

This exhibit is part of the visitor experience at the Mary Baker Eddy Historic House in Lynn, Massachusetts. Located on the first floor, it is both a comprehensive overview of Mrs. Eddy’s life and a complement to the docent’s tour of the house. The core of the exhibit focuses on the seven years (1875-1882) that Mary Baker Eddy lived in the house, where she completed important foundational work for the Christian Science movement.

Aside from the historical panels and photographs, other highlights of the exhibit include replicas of early teaching and church documents, as well as of the first three editions of Science and Health, all of which may be picked up for closer examination by visitors.
