Do you love animals? So did Mary Baker Eddy. As a young girl working on a farm, she regularly cared for them. If a baby chick was struggling or frail, she would hold it to her chest until she heard it flutter and found it strong and well.
She would also speak gently to animals. As an adult, Mary asked visitors to speak to them as well. In the horse stable at her Pleasant View home was a sign that read: “Always speak to the horses before entering the stalls.”
