Biography
LORD LANGFORD (Major the Honorable William Rowley before he succeeded to the peerage in 1923) and his wife, Lady Langford, were among the early Christian Science students who helped establish First Church of Christ, Scientist, London. William was a member of the original Board of Management, serving as Treasurer and Trustee from 1902 to 1904. First Church, London, was dedicated in 1909, and after Mrs. Eddy received word of the dedication she sent a message expressing her thanks to the members and her great gratitude to God (see The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, 198).
